Petroleum Technology in a Green Environment


Mr. Mike Southwood, B.Sc., P.Eng. (Canada) is an expert in power system protective relaying, with 40 years of practical field experience in many parts of the world.

 
 


Mr. Southwood earned his degree in Electrical Engineering at Salford University in the U.K.  He has worked for 40 years as a field engineer in the electricity supply industry, with the Central Electricity Generating Board in England, with Ontario Hydro, and with Eastern Power Ltd. in Toronto. He worked as a Senior Protection & Control Engineer where he was responsible for commissioning and maintenance of electrical equipment and protective relaying systems on major transmission and generation projects. Mr. Southwood is currently Chief Electrical Engineer with Eastern Power Ltd.; a Toronto based company, which designs, builds and operates non-utility generating stations. He has conducted numerous seminars\courses on power system protection for various industries and universities in many North American cities, and for various overseas electrical utilities.
